Junior Journeys & The Bronze Award

The Journeys the girls will be experiencing this year are exciting and geared toward learning to take charge of their own plans. They gain self-confidence as they explore the world in partnership with their troop/group leaders.

Agent of Change
Power. In this journey, there’s a whole spiral of it waiting for Girl Scout Juniors. The journey is filled with ceremonies and circles, real-life heroines. Along the way, girls learn how their own power combines into team power and then moves out to become community power. They will earn the Power of One Award, the Power of Team Award, and the Power of Community Award.

Get Moving!
Juniors build their skills as leaders who Energize, Investigate, and Innovate. They earn these three prestigious new leadership awards as they explore their own energy, the energy in their places and spaces (buildings), and the energy of getting from here to there (transportation).

It's Your Story-Tell It!
Stories say so much about us—our likes, desires, dreams. The It's Your Story – Tell It! Leadership Journey series, made possible by a grant from the Dove Self-Esteem Fund, gives girls the opportunity to tell their stories through a range of creative approaches. Self-esteem is a natural by-product of this Journey series because through storytelling and creative expression girls gain a deep understanding of themselves and their potential, and develop confidence to become leaders in their own lives and in the world.

The entire Girl Scout program, regardless of the exact topic, is designed to lead to leadership outcomes (or benefits) that stem from these three keys:

Discover: Girls will understand themselves and their values and use their knowledge and skills to explore the world
Connect: Girls care about, inspire, and team with others locally and globally.
Take Action: Girls act to make the world a better place.

Earning the Girl Scout Bronze Award involves the time it takes to complete a Girl Scout
Junior Journey and a suggested minimum of 20 hours for each girl to build their team,
explore their community, choose and plan their project, put their plan in motion, and
spread the word to educate and inspire others.
